Cool 3D of Bun in the Oven

Heather and I had our scheduled ultrasound yesterday and this time it was was with the cool 4D ultrasound machine. The baby was playing peek-a-boo with us and kept is hands in front of his face for most of the time. Luckily the nurse doing the ultrasound was experienced and knew to take screen captures early when she had the chance. This is one of about 10 that we got, but I don't want to bore everyone with a big collection of orange baby shots.

In another appointment Dr. Tutter told Heather that he really thinks we should schedule a c-section for this baby. He's worried that the baby will be bigger than Sophia and may cause complications if we do a normal birth. So next appointment we'll schedule the day with the hospital. Its a very different process than the first time, but I'm sure just as exciting.

Just the 2 of us

Heather left for New York today for a 4 day trip with Mom and Coryn. Baby Soph and I dropped her off at Union Station down in DC and then went over to TWC to meet up with our friend Kim for lunch. This is a picture of Sophia playing with some holiday candy that was in the lobby waiting room.

The next day Sophia and I planned out how we were going do the constuction in her new room. Basically we want to move her closet and in the process create a new hallway closet that Mommy and I can use for storage. We calculated it was a pretty simple project, but we'd have to work efficiently to get it done by the time Mommy returns. After we were all done planning it was time to PLAY! So she jumped on her new bike with her cell phone while I made plan with some family friends to visit over Fri-Sun to keep Sophia occupied. Farrell spent Friday and Saturday in WVa. so I had to call in the backups.

Friday came and we had plans to have dinner at the Bell's and then Kevin and I were going to do the demolision on the old walls. While dinner was still cooking Sophia ran around with a Rudolf nose on. She loved it, especially when it started to flash! Sophia stayed and played with Zach and Megan while Kevin and I got to work. She eventually fell asleep in the Pack-n-Play that Kelly set up in front of their Christmas tree. She was so memerized by the lights that she didn't realize she was at a different house. I picked her up around 1:30 as Kevin and I called it quits. A few times Kevin and I had to pause the process as I took a phone call from Heather. She was at the performance of the Rockettes, so she was calling me late. I had to play it off like I had Sophie asleep and I was just chillin. Little did she know...

The next morning Sophia had me up at 7:30 am. I was hurting after only 5 hours of sleep from the night before, five hours after a lot of hammering and hard labor. I quickly learned that being a single parent is ok when you only have day to day things to do like Eat Sleep and the basics. It gets really hard when you try to do anything additional, phew was I tired.

She and I had to make a run to Lowe's to pick up some additional supplies, big supplies like sheetrock and a new door for the closet. So I put her on my back, and away we went. It turned out really well, we even stopped by McDonald's for a cheese burger and fries, yum yum. We took a picture while standing next to a big SUV, I was actually using to make sure she was ok. :)

Saturday was another long day of watching Sophia during the day and then working right after dinner. The walls had gone in, the wiring was in place, the new light in the closet was ready. All we had to do on Sunday was hang and the sheetrock and clean up before Heahter got home at 5pm. I was working until the last minute before we had to leave to pick them up at Union Station. We brought her home and told her we had a surprise upstairs in Sophia's room, but she had to wait for us to go up and prepare. I told her to wait until she heard the door close, then she could come up. Sophia and I went up and hid in the new closet, the new door is right outside Sophia's bedroom door. Heather came up looking for us, and as she got closer Sophia couldn't help but start laughing. HB loves the new closet and I'm happy I got it all done before she got home.
