Joys of Fatherhood

Well it happened last night, one of those moments when I witnessed one of Sophia's firsts and knew that she was growing up to be a big girl. I was sitting on the floor in front of our sofa while she and I played with all her toys on the floor. She was running around being her usual crazy self, hugging Tonka uncontrollably, doing little dances and trying to do a somersault.
I wanted to turn the TV down because neither of us were really watching the program. So I said to her "Sophia, get me the remote" and I pointed to the side table where it was sitting. She looked at me and then at the table and in her little cute little toddler stride she walked over, got the remote and then excitedly walked it over to me, arm extended, remote leading the way. As I embraced her in a big hug, I realized just how happy lucky I am to be a daddy. I realize she won't always be so happy to do little chores for me, so I had better cherish these moments while they last.

Sophia comes to work!

Heather had an appointment with the doctor so Sophia came to help me out with a few things. First we went to lunch over at Vie De France and then it was back to work. Here is a picture of her working on the computer while also making a phone call on her ultra hip phone that looks like a computer mouse.

How is that for multitasking?

She was a big help and we got a lot done. Now she's off with Mommy to run some more errands...

Small website

Yesterday at lunch Stefan (a co-worker) and I decided to create a little website to track the number of presidential candidate bumper stickers we see on our daily commutes. I need to spread the word so we can get more results. Take a look, hopefully it won't flop and go nowhere. We spent a whole lunch hour on this thing!!

Mom and Dad, I guess you are going to miss out being over there, we'll think of another to do when you get back.

Shopping Sophia

Here is a picture of Sophia and I when we went to the Apple store the other day. She and I played with the eMacs and all the fun software they had loaded on there for the kids. That ball/chair she is sitting on was great. She loves shopping with Daddy.

We didn't buy anything that night. Mommy says we have to wait until Christmas to buy any more big computer gadgets.

Sonogram Message

Well we had our visit to the radiologist this past thursday and the good news is that everything looks good with the baby. After having downed 32 ounces of water, Heather had to hold it for about 45 minutes while we waited patiently, she wasn't very happy when we finially got into the visiting room. While the tech took about 70 pictures for the doctor, we could see baby parts every now and then, a leg here, a profile there. But really most of it looks like static on a black and white TV. Well as the tech was going along, she was moving around to get a better view and suddenly pulled the wand off Heather's belly, and asked us if we wanted to know the sex. Well when she put it back on, it was obvious why she pulled it way so quickly. There, centered on the screen, was Joey. Jr. mooning the camera, leaving no doubt to the question of boy/girl. :)

We only got one picture from the visit, but we may be back in 2 weeks for a few more pictures. If we get a good one, I'll post it. So this past weekend has been filled with plans for decorating the room and making a list of everything we need to get in place before March. Oh yeah, BTW the expected date is Feb 28th, so about 1 month exactly before Sophia's 2nd birthday. She be a good big sister.

Dad's gift

I came across the perfect gift for Dad today. If fits all the important criteria, including needing to fit into the RV. I thought I'd put it on here just to drive him a bit crazy. The only hint I'll give is its a gadget from the Sears Hardware store. :) Only a few months till you can see it, Dad.
